Reunited

After 13 hours that seemed like 13 days, Elaine is with her baby girl again. Sophie has moved both arms (which we were told to expect very little out of the right arm** at first so once again, she is bucking the odds). The recovery nurses also said she tried to talk a little. She looks great...swollen but great!

Brandon

**This is because they removed areas so close to the motor cortex that they felt there would be some temporary weakness on the right side for maybe a few weeks.

It reminds me of the song "Mother and Child Reunion." (I'm old). And I'm so glad Debbie will be there and for a day it will be the five of you together.

You best not tell us when you are coming home, or from the entrance to where you turn to your house to your front door might look like the Arch grounds when Obama was in St. Louis. So many of us with our thoughts in Detroit and here in St. Louis.

Best wishes for a peaceful night for Sophie and you three as well.

The first thing we got home at 11pm last night was to have Jeffrey check on Sophie's blog and find out how the surgery went. We were so glad with the outcome. I hope this is the end of what she has gone through for the past 3 years (fighting with seizure daily). A much brighter and smoother life is ahead of her. She is an extremely fortunate girl to have Brandon and Elaine as her parents. Elaine, I always know that you are an unselfish and caring person. Your strength and dedication to Sophie and your family really touch me. What an honor for me to be your girlfriend.
