This is a picture of Sophie's hair...pre-hairwashing yesterday morning. Do you see the big knotted mess on the top right of her head...can't miss it!!!
Here's a picture after working on it for over 2 hours straight...the sponge bath way. There is still a lot of ickies in her hair but my feet were getting extremely tired and swollen after standing for so long and I gave up. Also, that big knot on top her head just wouldn't untangle. I got it down to about the size of a golf ball and then cut it off (still leaving about 4 inches in length). As I cleaned her hair in sections, I put braids in it so it wouldn't get all matted up again. Doesn't she look so sweet and peaceful?!?!

She is going to be fine now! There is a Village of wonderful doctors at that hospital...you took her to the best doctors in the world!God has blessed you in so many ways!Seeing her use both of her hands makes me cry with happiness...just know the road to recovery will be so much easier because they saved her motor cortex!!Thank God for that!!!
She does look sweet. I always hate when my girls hair gets full of knots...
She does look so peaceful and adorable! That iodine and the sticky was so hard to get off Jackson's head...I can't imagine with all her long hair! It looks great!!!
She is sweet anyway you look at her. But I am sure that BOTH of you feel much better being clean.

She is just a doll! She looks so peaceful and getting much needed rest I am sure. Be sure to take care of yourselves as well and stay off those feet. You guys are doing a great job!!
Yay for clea, silky shiny hair!
Sniff...miss it...That's it...I'm buying a wig...
:P
I'm sure she feels so much better with clean hair! Moms know just what their kids need!
Of course that is 'CLEAN hair' not 'clea hair'. Damn laptop was NOT designed for my beefy sausage-like fingers.
You are such a great caretaker and have so much patience with the hair! She looks wonderful with the braids. Wish I could be there to give her a great big hug and kiss :-)

Erin

She is beautiful! I hope everything is going well.
it's so good to see and hear about such great progress. Sounds like she's on a roll!!! Uncle Neil and I are checking on her progress from the lobby of a super 8 in WI.
Love to all. Have a good night.

Your little Sophie....Look at her! She is so alert and moving SO WELL... BOTH HANDS!!! Is this a miracle or what? Y'all must be living right to be granted this miracle!!!

Yes, she does look sweet and peaceful! And I think you are right! A pixie cut would be adorable on her. Can't wait to see pics of that!
OK I love the pics & I REALLY love the video from the post before this one!! She is doing SO good! Elaine, remember, you may have seen a different Sophie, BUT - kids act different around their mommies!! Sophie is understanding & following commands & following her own body & mind schedule. OF COURSE she is going to be weak right now! But, she is going to be so much stronger in the long run - being seizure FREE!!!!! Little Sophie has always brought a smile to my face even thru all her difficulties becuase she has such a spark about her! Despite the seizures she {USED TO HAVE} she loves to learn & experience! She has the best big sis & little sis & family she could have ever asked for....or maybe SHE picked YOU :):):):)
We can't wait to go on another vacation with you! :) My kids just LOVE Sophie - even Julia has asked to watch the video of Sophie (Sho-she) again & again...there is just something about that girl!!!:) See you soon!
Love,
Laura, Matt, Sara, Ryan & Julia
