Video Clip...

Because I am seriously slacking on posting.

Because someone asked me if I am done blogging.

Because I just cannot find the right words.

So here is a video* for you all to see just how well Sophie is doing. Especially when you compare it to this video from a year ago (where I am requesting her to say words compared to actually having an on-going conversation with her now).

*I hope her chewing food doesn't distract you from the video. This is when her concentration and stillness levels are at their highest.

Simply...no, wait. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Sophie not only has come so far from a year ago, but so far from just a few months ago when we saw you guys.

Makes me teary to see it...you know, the happy kind :)

Kylie watched it with me and she said "more." So we watched it again and again. She loves to see her friend Sophie!

That's.

I dunno...that's...Astounding? Beyond my ability to even wrap my head around?

A little over a year, and what a remarkable difference in cognitive processing. And I hate to sound so coldly descriptive, but that's what it is...because it goes beyond just ability to form sentence structure and putting words together, there are complex IDEAS being expressed there, an understanding of how the world around her works and functions.

I am just quite frankly blown the F away. No wonder you aren't blogging much anymore. Why would you be? This is maybe the single most incredible transformative before and after 'captures' I have ever seen in an approximate year time span.

I can't believe it. You must be just beside yourself. And I know the day to day has sometimes been hard getting here I know, and the work has been hard and the three kids have made it hard and all that, but never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever forget (but if you do every once in a while that's OK too) what a MIRACLE that surgery actually was for that wonderful girl of yours.

WOW.

Wow.

TOO much swirling around for me to fully express everything. But my God...I SEE Trevor in her (just less matured)! I SEE him in everything she does. The way she moves. The way she articulates. The shape of her eyes. The shaking head. It's TOO much! Wow. Maybe I'm just sappy today? IDK...but I'm crying either way!

Love you!!!!!!!

BTW...we're doing Disney October 2012. Hint Hint. :)

That was AWESOME! Her language reminds me a lot of Julia's, although I'd say Sophie's sentence structure is better. And I DIED when she said Team Umizoomi. Julia says it the exact way as Sophie...that's becoming her new favorite show.

Go Sophie! You are doing great!

Ken...Honestly, I have been WANTING to blog about her progress on a more regular basis but at the end of the day after the kids are in bed...well...I just cannot think logically anymore. Unless I make arrangements for a babysitter, I have only one hour a week in which all falls right and I am kid-free. My MIL took the kids on Sunday, that is what motivated me to blog. For one more week I can say...I have 3 kids under the age of 5 and the only thing that keeps me sane is the little bit of time I spend on my iPhone when I am stuck on the couch between 2 little ones watching NickJr ;)

But...YES...it is a dramatic transformation (even for me) to watch the two videos!!! I LOVE it and I am trying to embrace every moment of it and I am trying to not let the little mundane things of my everyday life get in the way of that.
