Sweet Voice...

Here are a few words that I was able to capture on video. It was right after she woke up and she was in a really good mood. A time, not that long ago, we would have instead been cuddled up on the couch because the seizure monster would have taken over. Sophie always woke up happy but it was only moments later that a cluster of seizures would wipe her out. That I would have to hold her in my arms until she regained her strength back to face the day. I cannot even begin to imagine what it must have felt like to start EVERY SINGLE DAY like that for OVER 3 YEARS. To have your brain in an electrical storm so bad that it takes over your entire body and drains all your energy. I treasure a lot of moments but now I especially treasure the moments right after she wakes up because they are no longer stolen from us.

Great video of Sophie. It brought tears to my eyes hearing her sweet voice. I can't wait for the day I can hear Aidan's voice again, it's been too long.

Simply amazing...Elaine, she has overcome so much and looks great. What a miracle!!! She sounds so good. I cannot imagine how happy you are to be able to wake up every morning to such a happy little girl and no more seizure monster to haunt your days.

That is truly amazing and awe inspiring. She has come so far. You have all done a fabulous hard work and had more than your fair share of bumps in the road, but now is your time. Sophie's time to SHINE.

Thank you all for sharing in our joy. My personal favorite was "thank you". My mind went blank and I couldn't think of all her 2 syllable words. I asked her to repeat "thank you" even though I had never heard her say it before. I was shocked to hear her say it and with such clarity.
