Downloading video...

I need to put together a 30 to 60 second clip of Sophie at her best to send to Dr. Chugani. What software do you use to download the video to your computer? Also, what software do you use to burn the clip to a DVD? Or is it possible to send as an attachment on an e-mail?

Please leave me a comment if you have any knowledge on how to do this.

I suggest a device costing $30 called "e-film." It plugs into your computer and you insert your video card in it. It is the simplest way I have found to download images.

My video camera has a tape or a memory card option. You can record something directly onto the memory card or convert a portion of the taped video to the memory card, which can then be easily transferred as a movie file by plugging in the video camera directly into the computer. I don't use any additional software or devices. Now if you want to make your clip look better, I know most computers come with a version of movie editing software (although I've never taken the time to figure out how to use mine). The software will help you to edit the clip or add effects to your movie. Hope that helps. It's a lot easier than it sounds.

Any film processing store should be able to burn DVD's for you.

My email has a limit on how big of a file I can send. Which basically means...unless it's a pic...it ain't going through! Buuuut...I get around that by uploading to YouTube. You could email Chugani to see if he has access...some hospitals block YouTube. Our neuro gave us her home email addy too...so when I have a video clip I can email her at home where she can access YouTube easily.
