On May 10, 2006, at only 6 months old, Sophie was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms...a RARE and CATASTROPHIC form of epilepsy. She continues to battle this disorder on a daily basis. Only after she had the majority of her left hemisphere of her brain removed (on May 29, 2009) has she had a relief in seizures (though she continues to show spiking in her EEG). She has shown much improvement in development since the surgery.

Please pray for this little boy...
Jackson is a little boy that was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms. He is currently in Detroit for brain surgery. His journey through surgery is being told on Our Jackers. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks Elaine for posting about Jackson's blog and his surgery. We could use a lot of extra prayers this week! Sophie is such a cutie! Maybe we will see you all when you are in Detroit in a few weeks for testing. Also, I would be happy to talk with you or email about our experience here. Everyone has been great with Jackson. I'll email you more later!
