I can officially say that Sophie is now crawling!!! For the last few weeks, she would go forward a few spaces but now she will occasionally go forward about 5 feet without stopping. She is not very fast or very good at it BUT she is working on it. It is so wonderful to see her still progressing although at her own pace. Though, it hasn't been an easy journey to get to this point. As part of our new physical therapy approach, I am to use tough love (or a more pleasant way to say it - power of love). At times, she would sit there and have this really sad look in her eyes with tears rolling down her face. She would stare straight into my eyes with this look of desertion. Oh, how this tore at my heart. But eventually, she would stop and crawl towards me. At first, only a few spaces. Then, a few feet. Now, she will crawl (with a few rest stops) about 15 feet to get to me. Here is a video of Sophie crawling. Yeah Sophie!!!

I am so excited!!! And this is the time of the year when that Christmas tree is going to suddenly look so much more exciting than you. To keep her dad and his brother away from the tree(yes, they really did have a tree) Grandma Deb & Grandpa Charlie put their's in the playpen. Another option is only putting ornaments and lights on the upper 2/3!!
Has she had a chance to check out the snow?
I can't wait to see the crawling video. I couldn't access it! But while I was there I did watch the Dada video again. She is such an amazing little trooper!!!
Hang in there with that "power of love" But just so you know, when she's 12 and wants blue hair and you tell her no, she's not going to buy the "because I love you" stuff. And just wait till you see the looks and tears you get then.
Your wonderful news about Sophie's continued accomplishments has certainly answered the Christmas wish at the top of my list!!
Love,
Barb

All I can say is that was ADORABLE!! Her hair is so much longer than when we saw her in October!!!! Happy Holidays! Can't wait to see you all again!
WOW! I saw WAY more than just crawling................great progress in just a few weeks. Watch out mommy and daddy, here comes Sophie!! There is no stopping her now! I loved the crawling video and saw soooooo many nice skills and she is also using a few more consanant sounds. I think I heard, Ma? She goes to a tall kneel very nicely from crawling and even rocks and danced on the tall kneel. Very impressive.
I miss you all allready! I know this is very exciting for you.....Hold on to all of the GOOD STUFF!
Take care,
Miss. April
